Carson Sander-Ferracane | CSF Horsemanship

Carson Sander-Ferracane is the founder of CSF Horsemanship, where his philosophy centers around one essential truth: the horse is the teacher. With over a decade of experience and a diverse portfolio of hundreds of horses across disciplines, breeds, and temperaments, Carson has cultivated a comprehensive understanding of equine behavior, biomechanics, and learning theory.

Carson’s approach is grounded in classical horsemanship principles, the traditions of the vaquero-style horseman, and modern insights into equine psychology. His training emphasizes clear communication through feel, timing, and consistency—prioritizing softness, balance, and mental availability in the horse from the ground up.

With a strong focus on foundational groundwork, Carson ensures each horse develops proprioception, emotional regulation, and confidence before advancing to under-saddle work. Whether colt starting, refining performance horses, or rehabilitating behavioral challenges, he applies a methodical process that supports long-term soundness, both mentally and physically.

In addition to his equine skill set, Carson works closely with riders and handlers, helping them develop greater self-awareness, timing, and leadership. He understands that true horsemanship is a two-way conversation and tailors his instruction to support the individual learning styles of both horse and human.

At CSF Horsemanship, Carson offers a thoughtful, technical, and individualized approach to training—grounded in integrity, guided by experience, and always led by the horse.
